User Guide
Everything you need to get up and running with Quick Forge.
API Key Entry Tutorial
Open the AI Chat Panel
Click on the Green AI tab (A) from the main toolbar to open the AI Chat panel.
Open Settings
Click the gear button (B) inside the AI Chat panel to open the AI Chat Settings window.
Enter Your API Keys
Click on the API Key entry button (C) to open the secure API Keys Configuration window. Once all your keys are entered, make sure to save.
Refresh Models
After saving, return to the AI Chat Settings window and click Refresh Models (D) if you do not see your models appear in the drop-down menu (E).
Validate Your Model
To test that your model is working correctly, use the Validate button (F) inside the AI Chat Settings window.
Patch File Tutorial
Switch to Code Mode
Before making patch file changes, make sure you're in "code mode" in the AI Chat UI. Access the AI Chat window using the Green AI button (A) from the main toolbar. The toggle button (B) is to the right of the settings gear. You'll see a toast message appear at the bottom right when switching. Switch back to chat mode when your patch file operation is finished.
Use the AI Change Manager
After the AI Assistant queues changes, open the AI Change Manager via the gear button, then click Checklist (C). Enable Auto-open (D) to have the Change Manager open automatically. The Auto-Run (E) checkbox enables automatic anchor repair — we recommend running this manually when needed rather than enabling it automatically.
Troubleshoot Queuing Issues
Quick Forge prevents duplicate requests. If changes are not queuing, click the three-dots button (F) inside the Change Manager, then click either "Show Dismissed" or "Clear All" to remove previously completed items.
Pro Tip
When asking the AI Assistant for help making changes, specifically ask for patch file changes with clear anchors to work best with Quick Forge.
